Drapeshot / Guides

Looking for a Placeit alternative for apparel mockups?

Placeit is the name most sellers know for mockups, and it is good at what it does. Drapeshot works differently: you drop a design in once and see it on every scene at the same time. Here is an honest comparison so you can pick the one that fits how you work.

The main difference in how they work

Placeit is a very large library. You browse by product, then by person and setting, open one mockup, add your design and export it over a few steps, then go back for the next one.

Drapeshot only does apparel and textiles. You drop your design once and it appears on every scene on the wall together, in the garment colour you chose. Change the colour and the whole wall follows. You open a scene only when you want to fine tune it.

Side by side

Placeit details below come from its own pages as we read them in late October 2026. Prices and features change, so check placeit.net before you decide.

Where Placeit is the better pick

  • You want the biggest possible library to browse, by product, person and setting.
  • You prefer one flat unlimited subscription and plan to use it heavily every month.
  • Your design always sits in the same simple spot, so a fixed design zone is all you need.

Where Drapeshot is the better pick

  • You sell clothing and want to see one design across many scenes before choosing which to use.
  • You care about real print sizes. Each product has named print areas, like a 4 x 4 in left chest or a 12 x 16 in full front on a classic tee, so the mockup matches what you can order.
  • You want the print look too. Screen print looks with one to three inks, halftone, riso, grain and distressed show how the design will actually print, not just a flat overlay.
  • You need the print file as well as the photo. The same design comes out as a transparent PNG sized in inches. See print file size and DPI.
  • Your buyers are in India or like everyday settings. Many scenes are shot in real places like metro platforms, cafes and courtyards, and the range includes kurtas, kurtis, stoles and bed sheets.
  • You want all over prints from a single motif. See all over print mockups.

Try both on the same design

The quickest way to decide is to use the same artwork in each. In Drapeshot you can do this without paying: drop your PNG on the scene wall, pick a colour and look across every scene. Free downloads are 2,000 pixels with a watermark, which is enough to compare quality side by side.

Questions people ask

Is Drapeshot free?

Does Drapeshot have phone or mug mockups?

No. It covers clothing, bags, caps, aprons, bandanas, stoles and home textiles like cushions, pillowcases and bed sheets.
